Depending on your or your clients preference, eyebrow color can be a combination of any of the following.
Eyebrow Gel in pot
Eyebrow or Matte Finish Eyeshadow Powder
angled brow brush
Steps to draw on brows:
Use a spool or brow brush to comb brows in place. Comb upward, outward and downward.
Measure where the start of your eyebrow should begin; hold up a straight edge from the inside of the inside of corner of your nose by the nostril to the corner of your eye, the eyebrow space directly about it is where it should begin.
Measure the space from the inside of the corner by your nostril to the outer corner of the eye, this is about where the tail should end.
Apply wax or brow gel with either an angled brush, fan brush or brow brush to existing hair and to fill in tail if needed.
Using an angled liner/brow brush apply powder in the same direction; upward, outward and down.
EYES FIRST -Doing eyes first will allow you complete artistic freedom and prevent unnecessary concealer and foundation reapplication. It’s not wrong if you do face first, it will just take longer and you’ll repeat multiple steps.
Prepping Eyes– Using a nylon bristle concealer brush PREP eyelid with an eyeshadow base. Avoid using concealer or foundation as it will crease quickly. Size of the brush should be determined by the size of the eyelids.
Typically 3-4 shadows are used, the lightest color on the brow bone as a highlight, the darkest color on the crease as a contour and an in between color all over the lid. This is a general guideline not a rule.
Using an eyeshadow brush, apply color to the lid.
Using a blending brush apply a lighter color to the brow bone. Doing this step prior to your crease color prevents “smoking” the highlight and turning it grey.
Using a tapered crease brush, apply your contouring color to the outer crease area.
You may now begin the mascara and eyeliner process. Tutorial coming soon.
Are you having problems making eyeshadow last all day?
Do you see creases in your makeup? Lots of shadow “fallout” under your eyes?
Here are some helpful tips and tricks to make your eyeshadow last all day, without any of these issues.
DO NOT APPLY EYE CREAM TO EYELIDS, you read that correctly.Eye cream should be applied around the eyes, but notup to the lash line and not on the eyelid itself. As with ANY product you should read the manufacturers instructions. If it does say to apply it to the lid and lash line, do it at night before bed but not during the day before makeup. Pretend you have makeup on and are trying to avoid ruining it, this is where it should be applied.
Are you having problems keeping mascara on your lids? This simple hack will stop it.
DO NOT APPLY EYE CREAM TO EYELIDS OR LASH LINE, you read that correctly. Eye cream should be applied around the eyes, but not up to the lashline and not on the eyelid itself. Applying cream to the lashes creates a barrier and prevents the mascara from sticking to the lashes. Applying it to the eyelids not only breaks up your eyeshadow but also acts as a transport vehicle that pushes the mascara off your lashes. You also want to avoid using oil based makeup removers, UNLESS you plan on washing them off with face wash BEFORE putting your makeup on after using them.
Look changes are easier then you think. Looking to change up your day makeup to date makeup? Throw on some blot powder. It absorbs oil and disintegrates so you’re not packing on so much product and clogging pores. Brighten up your lips and lighten up your eyes for a trendy look.
