Let’s face it, Christopher Burt would want us in our best make up and hair for his last hurrah this Saturday.

Here are some tips for those of you who want to but need help in cry proofing your make up.

Let’s be real, it’s waterproof, not ugly cry proof. so nothing is going to be 100% hysterical ugly cry proof.

Meaning if you cry a lot and you’re drying your waterproofed eyes with tissues, it’ll be fine. If you’re hysterical and rubbing your eyes it’s not gonna stay.

Below are some product recommendations…

For waterproof mascara, I personally love L’Oreal voluminous carbon black, waterproof.

WATERPROOF MASCARA ONLY WORKS ON LASHES THAT DONT HAVE CREAM OR LOTION ON THEM. IT HAS TO BE APPLIED DIRECTLY TO BARE LASHES. The same goes for eyeshadow primers.

To waterproof eyeshadow use a waterproof primer. This will help keep the eye makeup together, along with a waterproof eyeliner pencil. H20 pencils dry very quickly, so just make sure if you want to smudge it that you do one eye, smudge, and then do the other eyeliner and smudge.

As for foundation, you can make any foundation waterproof by mixing a silicone primer with it, or by putting it on your face first then apply your foundation.

Tarte makes 2 different Waterproof bronzers that I believe are both available at Sephora; Amazonian clay and park Princess.

Haus labs, rare beauty and Charlotte tilbury all make waterproof blushes.

As for eyebrows if you are crying so badly that your brows are getting messed up, im sorry you’re that upset. But I highly recommend L’Oreal infallible brow gel it’s perfect for this! You’ll want to put that on very quickly using an angle liner brush, because the doe foot applicator that comes with it is far too big and will not get you a sharp tail or curved arch. You can use your angled brush to grab product off this applicator.

Lastly; make sure you have plain SOFT tissues on hand. You don’t want to be putting anything near your wet eyes that have lotion or menthol or anything like that as these chemicals will flush right into your already irritated eyes through your tears and aggravate them even more.

Just wrap a plain tissue around your finger and press on the corner, the inner corner of your eye and the outer corner of your because that will draw a lot of water out. You’ll want to blink right away and repeat blot because that will help get rid of extra tears too.
